In Silico Aptamers

We want everybody to be able to use the Neomer library to improve the aptamers that they are selecting for.

Find out if our In Silico Options are for you. Do you:

Not have the budget for a full custom aptamer project?

Have lab space and personnel to do an aptamer selection yourself?

Have targets that cannot be shipped to a lab for a custom aptamer project?

If you answered yes to any of these, our In Silico options may be for you!

The In Silico Options

The In Silico option is designed for clients seeking high-quality aptamers at a lower cost and in less time. With NeoVentures Biotechnology’s (NVB) reproducible aptamer selection process—the Neomer method—we can perform robust statistical analyses of selection results. This includes evaluating selection at the structural level, identifying aptamer candidates from different structural networks that bind to the same target (i.e., different epitopes), selecting ten candidate aptamers, and providing guidance for truncating these candidates.

While this option does not include binding assay confirmation of performance, our intellectual property (IP) policy remains the same. Clients will own all ten aptamer sequences selected against their target. We will release these sequences, allowing clients to apply each candidate directly in their intended applications. Although binding assays provide valuable information, the aptamer that performs best in a binding assay may not necessarily be the most effective in the final application. This approach removes the need for binding assays as a limiting step, giving clients the flexibility to use the aptamers we develop.

How Do We Choose The Aptamers?

Aptamers function based on their unique three-dimensional structures, which allow them to bind with high specificity to target molecules. At NeoVentures, we have meticulously predicted all possible structures within our Neomer library, providing a vast array of structural diversity. During the aptamer selection process, we assess which of these structures are responding most effectively to the selection pressures. Once identified, we map the top-performing structures as central nodes in a relational diagram, highlighting their significance in the selection process. Surrounding each central node, we map closely related structures, forming clusters that represent structural similarities. This ball-like arrangement around the central node allows us to visualize not only the top-performing structures but also their structural relatives, providing insights into potential optimizations. Additionally, the central nodes themselves are mapped relative to one another, enabling us to understand the overall landscape of aptamer functionality. This approach ensures that we are selecting the most effective aptamers and offering a deeper understanding of their structural relationships, driving greater precision and reliability in their applications.
