Open Positions
Responsibilities
- -Execute existing data analysis pipelines on 4.29 billion aptamer sequence data sets including meta-analysis of oligonucleotide secondary structures on in-house Linux servers.
- -Build customized applications for specific project needs.
- -Collaborate with our French subsidiary, NeoNeuro, to develop and improve analytical pipelines.
- -Maintain pipeline versions, container specifications for all data analyzed.
- -Maintain clear file management and coordination across multiple simultaneous projects.
- -Provide input into experimental design and analysis validation.
- -Thoroughly test and document workflows.
- -Develop custom analysis tools and improve existing tools where appropriate
- -Provide output in summaries suitable for sharing externally.
Qualifications
- -Master’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer science or equivalent experience
- -Experience designing and implementing NGS and -omics data processing pipelines.
- -Knowledge of common bioinformatics file types and analysis tools
- -Strong background in Python and Linux.
- -Extensive experience of shell scripting and the command-line
- -Familiarity with scikit-learn or tensor-flow packages (ML) in python
- -Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- -A background in biology/genetics with proven critical thinking and research skills
- -Eligible to work in Canada.
Assets
- -Experience with workflow frameworks/languages (e.g. WDL, CWL, Nextflow, Snakemake)
- -Experience with Docker/Singularity/containerization
- -Experience with cloud computing (particularly GCP, AWS, and Azure) or HPC environments
- -Experience critically interpreting scientific literature.
- -Familiarity and proficiency generating effective data visualizations.
- -Experience working with databases
- -Data visualisation in R using tidyverse and ggplot2 packages would be a plus.
