Les sucres sont des mol\u00e9cules qui ont une formule g\u00e9n\u00e9rique de CnH2nOn. Ils peuvent \u00eatre d\u00e9crits comme des compos\u00e9s polyhydroxyl\u00e9s contenant une liaison \u00e9ther. La plupart des sucres sont optiquement actifs, et cela vient de la pr\u00e9sence de carbones substitu\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re asym\u00e9trique dans le sucre. Dans un environnement aqueux, les cycles peuvent prendre deux formes. Lors de la formation du cycle, si le groupe hydroxy est pi\u00e9g\u00e9 au-dessus du cycle, il sera sous forme b\u00eata ; s'il est pi\u00e9g\u00e9 en dessous du cycle, il sera alpha. Les deux formes interconvertissent lentement jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'un \u00e9quilibre soit \u00e9tabli.<\/p>\n

Cela pourrait \u00eatre d\u00fb \u00e0 l'abondance de charges n\u00e9gatives sur les sucres (groupes hydroxyle) et au fait que les sucres sont en flux constant entre diff\u00e9rentes formes, tant \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur qu'\u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur de la forme en chaise, et que les hydroxyles tournent de sorte que la distance entre eux n'est pas constante.<\/p>\n

Pour que la s\u00e9lection des aptam\u00e8res soit efficace, il doit y avoir une distance fixe entre les charges. Si les charges changent dans l'espace, alors toutes les s\u00e9quences d'aptam\u00e8res sont \u00e9galement bonnes pour se lier \u00e0 elles. Si les charges sont fix\u00e9es en raison des doubles liaisons dans la mol\u00e9cule cible, ou mieux encore, des doubles liaisons dans un anneau, alors les charges ne tournent pas et la distance entre elles est fixe.
