{"id":1812,"date":"2021-12-08T03:07:19","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T08:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/neoaptamers.com\/?p=1812"},"modified":"2021-12-08T03:27:07","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T08:27:07","slug":"can-aptamers-replace-antibodies-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neoaptamers.com\/fr\/can-aptamers-replace-antibodies-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Les aptam\u00e8res peuvent-ils remplacer les anticorps ? \"Neutralisation des infections\""},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"1812\" class=\"elementor elementor-1812\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-b4aa259 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"b4aa259\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-5469fa0\" data-id=\"5469fa0\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75790b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"75790b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In our previous post on \u201c<\/span><b>can aptamers replace antibodies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d we mentioned some of the limitations where antibodies are unable to detect small molecules.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today we would be discussing the limitations of antibodies in Viral infections.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite years of research, certain pathogens, such as HIV, have proved to be extremely difficult to treat with antibody therapy. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some limitations of antibodies in therapeutics are that it is relatively expensive to manufacture, requires systemic administration and is only specific to a particular pathogen or serotype.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for diagnosis of viral infections aptamers are clearly the preferred choice over antibodies especially\u00a0 where the need for consistent refrigeration may pose a problem.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For neutralization of infections, we have developed the capacity to select aptamers that will specifically interfere with the site of binding between the virus and its human cell receptor, either by targeting the virus receptor binding domain, or targeting the human cell receptor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A significant advantage of aptamers over antibodies with GNPs is that we can pack a lot more on per particle (average of 150 detection aptamers per 20 nm diameter GNP). This capacity allows us to create GNPs loaded with both detection aptamers and signal oligonucleotides, thus amplifying the signal per target binding event.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our selection process focuses on those aptamers that have the capacity to neutralize infections. The use of such aptamers as prophylactics represents a new and exciting opportunity for improved health care globally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite all the advantages, aptamers have not replaced antibodies but have become a preferred alternative for antibodies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At NeoVentures we are the global leaders in the identification of aptamers against viruses.
